Carla Leo (b. 1994, New Haven) is a painter, draftsperson, printmaker, and filmmaker.

Painting and drawing from short films she choreographs and directs, Leo creates a reality to craft her pictorial world. Multi-paneled paintings, drawings, and prints are her “director’s cut.”

Leo is the current recipient of a 2026-2027 Fulbright Artist Grant in Painting and Printmaking to Berlin, Germany, where, alongside working in her studio, she is researching filmmaking at Arsenal Filminstitut.

The New Haven native earned her MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art in 2023 and her BA in Printmaking from Southern Connecticut State University in 2020.

Leo runs her own press, Feral Carla.
